Freshmen `Cats help Villanova to Fast Start
After a birth to the 2015 NCAA Tournament, a second-place BIG EAST finish, and a 25-9 overall record, the Villanova volleyball team graduated seven of the 18 members on the team last May. The Wildcats needed to replace 2016 All-BIG East First Team setter Emma Pettit. The 2016 graduate ranks third all-time in assists in program history, so Villanova needed a setter to step up and give the experienced attackers an opportunity to produce kills. Freshman Emma Decker (La Grange Ill./Nazareth Academy) has done just that.
Men's Golf Returns To Action This Weekend
The Villanova men’s golf team will return to action this weekend at the Patriot Intercollegiate hosted by George Mason from Sept. 25-26. The tournament will be played at the par-71 Laurel Hills Golf Club in Lorton, Va.
NCAA Completes Review: Spellman a 2016-17 Academic Redshirt
An NCAA initial eligibility review has determined that freshman forward Omari Spellman (North Royalton, Ohio) will not be eligible to compete for the Wildcats during the 2016-17 basketball season. Spellman will continue to receive an athletic scholarship and practice with the team. He retains four seasons of athletic eligibility.

Villanova to Open BIG EAST Play against Butler Saturday
The Villanova women’s soccer team (2-7) will open up BIG EAST Conference play at home this Saturday, September 24th against the Butler Bulldogs (7-2-1). Kickoff is scheduled for 1:05 and will be aired on the BEDN, with Nick Mantegna on the call.
Second Set Run Sparks a Villanova Victory over Seton Hall

Villanova Announces 2016-17 Women's Basketball Schedule
The 2016-17 campaign begins on Friday, Nov. 11, when the Wildcats travel to Orono, Maine, to take part in the Maine Tip-Off Tournament. Villanova will play Mississippi State in the first round and will play either Purdue or the host Black Bears on day two. Following the trip to Maine, Villanova returns to the Main Line to open the home portion of its schedule on Sunday, Nov. 20, against the George Washington Colonials.
