Penn Relays: Men's DMR Team Finishes Tallies Fifth Place Finish
Villanova returned three of its four runners in the same position as last season in the Championship of America distance medley relay on Friday afternoon and found itself in a fast and physical race from the outset at Franklin Field in the 123rd running of the Penn Relays. The quartet of junior Ben Malone (River Vale, N.J.), sophomore Harry Purcell (Dublin, Ireland), sophomore Ville Lampinen (Vantaa, Finland) and redshirt freshman Logan Wetzel (Saline, Mich.) tallied a fifth place finish in 9:34.59 in the Wildcats first big race of the weekend.
Villanova Drops Game One of Conference Series to Georgetown, 7-0
The Villanova Wildcats (9-24, 2-5 BIG EAST) returned to the Villanova Ballpark at Plymouth on Friday afternoon to take on the Georgetown Hoyas (22-19, 1-5 BIG EAST) in BIG EAST conference play. On a beautiful sunny day in Plymouth Meeting, Pa., the Wildcats dropped game one of the series, with a final score of 7-0. Senior Todd Czinege (Overland Park, Kan.) and freshman Tyler Bruno (Breinigsville, Pa.) each has two hits for the Wildcats today.
Men’s Golf Ready For BIG EAST Championship
The Villanova men’s golf team will head south to play in the BIG EAST Championship Presented by Jeep from April 30-May 2 at the Callawassie Island Golf Club in Okatie, S.C. The 54-hole tournament will begin at 8 a.m. each day, and live stats will be available throughout the competition.
Villanova Welcomes DePaul This Weekend For BIG EAST Series
The Villanova softball team (29-17, 9-6 BIG EAST) will face the DePaul Blue Demons (24-18, 9-4 BIG EAST) this weekend for a BIG EAST Conference series at the Villanova Softball Complex. The teams will square off on Saturday in a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m., and the series finale will take place Sunday at 11 a.m.

The Villanova women’s tennis team (10-16) fell to the DePaul Blue Demons (15-7) in the BIG EAST Tennis Quarterfinals with a 4-0 loss. Villanova was the seventh seed and beat tenth seeded Providence to get to today and DePaul was the number two seed.

Men's Tennis Lose Close Battle to Butler in BIG EAST Quarterfinal
The Villanova men’s tennis team (14-9) lost a very close battle to the Butler Bulldogs (15-5) losing 4-3 in the BIG EAST Tennis Quarterfinals. The Wildcats were seeded sixth and Butler was seeded third and this was the first time all season both teams have met to face each other.
