Wildcats Earn All-BIG EAST Honors In 12 Different Events
The listing of All-BIG EAST honors from last week's conference championships was announced on Friday morning and Villanova had athletes recognized in 12 different events. The top three finishers in each of the 20 different events that make up the BIG EAST Championships garner all-conference accolades. This is only the third time ever that the Wildcats have recorded All-BIG EAST performances in a dozen or more events.
Wildcats Can't Contain Titans, Lose 6-1
In the first of two matches on the day the Villanova Wildcats were beaten by nationally ranked #17 UC San Diego 6-1. The only point of the day came from Tim Abbraacciamento's singles match.
Women's Tennis Defeated at UC Riverside
The Wildcats women's tennis team was defeated by UC Riverside 5-2 on Thursday. The point came from Victoria Martinez in her singles match. Martinez also teamed with Samantha Schafer in her doubles match in win however Villanova couldn't come up with the doubles point.
Rob Denault and Distance Medley Relay Squad Selected for NCAA Championships
The selected entries for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships have been announced and Villanova is qualified for the national meet in the distance medley relay for the eighth straight year. In addition to the relay, junior distance runner Rob Denault (Aurora, Ont.) was selected individually to compete in the Mile for the second time in his career. The NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held on March 13-14 at Randal Tyson Track in Fayetteville, Ark.
St. John's vs. Villanova on Saturday March 7th
Wildcats host St. John's on Saturday after Seton Hall and Georgetown face off as part of a BIG EAST double header on FOX.

Strong Relief Leads to a Wildcat Victory
The Villanova Wildcats softball team returned to the diamond for an early weekend matchup with Maine this morning and recorded their fourth victory of the season in the 4-3 win. The Wildcats got strong performances from both Brette Lawrence and Kate Poppe in relief as well as a strong offensive output in the top of the fourth inning. The `Cats improve to 4-6 on the season while the Black Bears drop to 4-7. Both teams only scored in a single inning of the game; the bottom of the first for the Black Bears and the top of the fourth for the Wildcats.
