Kaisla Kollanus Named Villanova Student-Athlete of the Month
Wildcat junior freestyle swimmer Kaisla Kollanus (Hyvinkaa, Finland/Makelanrinteen Iukio) has been named the Villanova Student-Athlete of the Month for February, as announced by the Office of Academic Support this week.
Big Bats Power Wildcats Over Mount St. Mary's, 21-4
An impressive offensive display that included three long home runs and more than two dozen hits helped Villanova (4-7) put some rarely seen numbers on the scoreboard in a 21-4 victory over Mount St. Mary's (2-4) at North Charlotte Regional Park on Wednesday afternoon. Sophomore center fielder Donovan May (Newark, Del.) went 6-for-6, junior first baseman Max Beermann (Tampa, Fla.) crushed a pair of three-run home runs and four different players had multi-RBI games in the rout.
Villanova Defeated 5-2 in California
As part of their trip to California the Wildcats women's tennis team played today against UC San Diego and lost 5-2. Villanova won two singles matches and a doubles match.
Villanova Ready For Another Round in USF Under Armour Showcase
The Villanova Wildcats will return to the diamond this weekend after enjoying a couple of days off for spring break in Florida. This will be the second week they will compete in the Eddie C. Moore Softball Complex in Clearwater. This time the tournament is called the USF Under Armour Showcase. The `Cats are set to play six games; one on Thursday, two on Friday, two on Saturday and the last game on Sunday.

Petruzzellis Named Most Outstanding Field Performer as Wildcats Win BIG EAST Title
At the BIG EAST Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend, Villanova won eight different events and captured the team title at the conference meet for the second straight year. This is the conference-record 14th team title overall for the Wildcats, who scored 176 points and won by a 42.5-point margin over the other seven conference teams.
Men's Tennis Defeated at UC Riverside
In a match originally scheduled for this past Sunday, the Wildcats were defeated in a rain-delayed match against the UC Riverside Highlanders. Despite gaining the doubles point, the Wildcats were swept in singles to lose 6-1.
