There is no one way to define the incredible legacy of the Villanova track & field programs, but as good a place as any to start is the Wildcats unrivaled history at the Penn Relays. It is Penn Relays week at long last, and the 122nd running of the world's most historic track meet will add another chapter to Villanova's long-standing tradition at Franklin Field.
1966 DMR Team Earns Penn Relays Wall of Fame Induction
During the 122nd running of the Penn Relays this week, Villanova will add another relay team to the Wall of Fame when the 1966 distance medley relay team is inducted on the 50th anniversary of its historic win. A team that consisted of Alan McCafferty, Bill Heidelberger, Ian Hamilton and Dave Patrick won the DMR with a then-record time of 9:46.4 on the old cinder track at Franklin Field. They will become the Wildcats 10th relay to be inducted to the Wall of Fame.
Wildcats Edged By Rutgers, 6-4, in Matchup of Former Conference Foes
In a seesaw affair that came down to the final pitch, Villanova (15-25) had leads of 2-0 and 4-3 but ultimately fell by a 6-4 final to Rutgers (21-20) at Bainton Field on Wednesday afternoon. Junior right fielder Donovan May (Newark, Del.) had two hits and drove in three runs for the Wildcats in the battle between two former BIG EAST rivals.

Villanova men's lacrosse seniors Johnny Gallaway and John Moderski were named to this week's BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, announced by the conference Monday afternoon.
Wildcats Split Against Towson on Tuesday
The Villanova Wildcats (29-15, 11-4 BIG EAST) traveled down I-95 Tuesday afternoon for a pair of non-conference games against CAA foe Towson (31-15, 7-7 CAA).
Hunter Schryver Makes Third Consecutive Appearance on BIG EAST Honor Roll
Junior starting pitcher Hunter Schryver (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) keeps rolling off one great start after another, and on Monday afternoon he was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for the third consecutive week. Schryver is 2-0 with a 0.84 ERA and just seven hits allowed in 21.0 innings pitched through his first three starts in BIG EAST play.
Michaels Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Michael's played both games in goal for the Wildcats last week and finished with 21 total saves, three groundballs and one caused turnover.
