Czinege and Schryver Named Finalists for Senior CLASS Award
Senior second baseman Todd Czinege (Overland Park, Kan.) and senior starting pitcher Hunter Schryver (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) were each selected as one of ten finalists for the 2017 Senior CLASS Award for baseball as announced on Thursday morning. Czinege and Schryver were originally named to the initial list of 30 candidates.
Women's Tennis Cruises Past Providence in First Round of BIG EAST Championships
The Villanova women’s tennis team (10-15) pulled out a huge victory against the Providence Friars (4-13) during the first round of the BIG EAST Tennis Championships. They swept the Friars 4-0 and will now move on to the quarterfinals against the number two seed, DePaul.
Weekend Preview: Villanova Hosts Georgetown in Conference Series
The Wildcats will host the Georgetown Hoyas in a three-game weekend series match-up. Villanova currently holds the all-time series record and are looking to improve this record. It will be a fun filled weekend as it is Salute to Service Day on Saturday and Youth Day on Sunday.

Retamar and Gulati Lift Wildcats to a 3-1 Win Over Penn in Non-Conference Play
Senior catcher Zander Retamar (Boca Raton, Fla.) tied the game for Villanova (9-23) when he homered down the left field line in the top of the fifth inning at Meiklejohn Stadium against Penn (21-17) on Tuesday afternoon. Freshman Ryan Toohers (Florham Park, N.J.) led the team with three hits, including a double, as David Gulati (Collegeville, Pa.) had two hits and a run batted in during today’s game.
Curran Named BIG EAST Offensive Player, Testa and Kirst to Honor Roll
Curran, a graduate student captain, scored eight goals. This ties the record for the most goals scored in a single game, set by teammate Jake Froccaro a season ago. His final goal of the game was also his 42nd of the season, breaking the single season goal scoring record set in 1991. Curran is currently fifth all time in goals scored in his career with 106.
