Men's Tennis Takes Down UConn
The men's tennis team took on the UConn Huskies earlier on Sunday afternoon and came out with a victory by a score of 5-2. Nova won all three doubles matches for the doubles point, and the Wildcats won four of the six singles matches.
Villanova and Seton Hall Compete in Pitching Duel
After waiting an extra day to play each other, Villanova and Seton Hall took the diamond Sunday afternoon to play the first in a three-game conference series. It was a low-scoring affair and Seton Hall was able to cling on to an early lead as the Wildcats fell to 9-15 (1-3 BIG EAST) and the Pirates improved to 12-18 (1-3 BIG EAST).

The Villanova women's tennis team lost 7-0 earlier today to the UConn Huskies. They were swept in both doubles and singles.
Hat Tricks from Denihan & Dottino Seal Wildcat's First Conference Victory
The Villanova women's lacrosse team (6-4, 1-0) travelled west to take on their first BIG EAST foe of the season Marquette (4-7 0-1) at Valley Fields in Milwaukee, Wis. on Saturday March 28. The Wildcats came out strong posting four unanswered goal within the first ten minutes of the match; two of which came from free-position shots. Sophomore transfer Carolyn Dottino tallied her seventh goal of the season off a free-position shot at 24:41 to give the Wildcats the early edge. A little over three minutes later junior Meghan Breen added her own goal to the board off a pass from junior Kelsey Denihan at 21:47.
#13 Marquette Tops Villanova 9-8 in BIG EAST Opener
In a game that featured eight tied scores and five lead changes, it was the visiting Marquette Golden Eagles that outlasted the Villanova Wildcats 9-8 on Saturday at Villanova Stadium.
Wildcats Throw Two-Hitter But Drop Narrow Game to Hofstra, 1-0
On a frigid afternoon that felt more like late January than it did baseball season, a single run in the top of the third inning was the difference in the game as Villanova (8-13) lost, 1-0, to Hofstra (8-12) in the middle game of a three-game series at the Villanova Ballpark at Plymouth on Saturday afternoon.
Water Polo Defeats No. 14 Ranked Wagner
In the second weekend loaded with conference matchups in as many weeks the Wildcats played two games on Saturday. They were beaten in the first game by Iona 14-9. In the second game the `Cats matched up against the No. 14 ranked Wagner Seahawks and defeated them by a score of 9-8. It marks the first time this season that Villanova has defeated a nationally ranked team in water polo.
Josh Lampron Wins 1500 Meters at Danny Curran Invitational
In frigid conditions at the Danny Curran Invitational on Saturday afternoon, Villanova had athletes competing in a total of five events at Leslie C. Quick, Jr. Stadium. Two days of competition at the local meet concluded with Saturday's events, including three running events and two field events that the Wildcats entered.
