Sunday’s game between Villanova and St. John’s will be the 61st all-time meeting between the schools. Villanova leads the all-time series by a 35-25 count. Villanova won both meetings last year (58-54 win at home on 1/17/16; 71-59 at St. John’s on 2/12/16).
Villanova Wins BIG EAST Dual Meet Against Providence
The Villanova men’s swimming and diving team picked up its second straight win in a BIG EAST dual meet against Providence on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats won the meet by a score of 130-68 and took the top spot in nine of the 11 events.
Baseball Team to Host First Pitch Dinner on February 3
The start of the 2017 baseball season is right around the corner, and all Wildcats baseball fans, friends and alumni are invited to join the team for its First Pitch Dinner on Friday, February 3. The event takes place in the O’Dea Terrace Lounge of the Andrew J. Talley Athletic Center at 7 p.m. Tickets to the event can be purchased for $75, or $50 for graduates from 2011-16. The cost of the ticket includes a cocktail reception and dinner.
Clark Named to Preseason All-MAAC Team, Cats Picked Fourth
The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced today that junior center Dominique Clark (Berkeley, Calif.) was selected to the Preseason All-MAAC Team for the upcoming 2017 season.
Princeton Edges Villanova, 162-138
Despite a good showing in many events, the Villanova women’s swimming and diving team was edged by Princeton 162-138 in a dual meet on Friday.
Villanova Tallies 69-52 Win Over Seton Hall
In women’s basketball action on Friday afternoon, the Villanova Wildcats connected on 14 three-point field goals en route to a 69-52 win over the visiting Seton Hall Pirates. With the victory, Villanova improves to 7-9 overall and 3-3 in Big East Conference play, while the Pirates fall to 8-9 overall and 1-5 in conference action.
Wildcats Head to New York City to Meet St. John's
No. 3 ranked Villanova (16-1 overall, 4-1 BIG EAST) continues conference play Saturday when it meets St. John's (8-10 overall, 2-3 BIG EAST) at Madison Square Garden (FS1 and 610 Sports Radio).
