Patrick Tiernan Named Cross Country All-American For Third Straight Year
Following his second place finish at the NCAA Championships over the weekend, junior Patrick Tiernan (Toowoomba, Australia) was officially named an All-American in an announcement made Monday evening by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). This is the third straight year that Tiernan has been a cross country All-American and he becomes just the third runner in school history to earn the honor three times.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Zach Bednarczyk (Wallington, N.J.) ran for 157 yards and two touchdowns and senior linebacker Don Cherry (Trumbull, Conn.) scored a rushing touchdown on a goal-line carry. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak but the Wildcats nevertheless finish the season with a winning record for the 13th time in the last 15 years.

The Villanova volleyball team completed an undefeated season at home Saturday when the Wildcats beat St. John's 29-27, 25-16, 25-14 on Senior Night.
