Williamson Sets School Record in 60 Meters at Nittany Lion Challenge
One of the young members of the Villanova roster made a name for herself in the first meet of the new year and the Wildcats had a terrific day of competition at the Nittany Lion Challenge on Saturday afternoon. Freshman sprinter Trudy-Ann Williamson (Kingston, Jamaica) provided the highlight of the day by first tying, and then breaking, the school record in the 60 meter dash. She won the final heat in a record time of 7.41 seconds.

Lampinen and Purcell Open Up Strong at Nittany Lion Challenge
Sophomore sprinters Ville Lampinen (Vantaa, Finland) and Harry Purcell (Dublin, Ireland) were among several Villanova athletes who opened up the new calendar year on a strong note at the Nittany Lion Challenge on Saturday afternoon. The pair each competed in the 600 meters and finished in the top four in a field of 20 runners. Overall, the Wildcats had 14 athletes competing in 10 individual events and a relay during the meet at Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track.
