Villanova Opens BIG EAST Play At Seton Hall
The Villanova softball team will begin BIG EAST Conference play this weekend at Seton Hall. The Wildcats and Pirates will square off at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Saturday and close the weekend with a 12 p.m. game on Sunday. Villanova is 11-8 on the season, and Seton Hall sports a 13-9-1 record.
Villanova Men's Tennis Topples Rider, 7-0
The Wildcats had strong performances from all nine players. It started off with the doubles matches. Luis Miranda and William Elmore combined in the No. 1 spot to defeat Rider 6-2.
Women's Rowing Competes at the Murphy Cup on Saturday
The Villanova women’s rowing team were able to get back out on the water on the Schuylkill River for a warm Saturday in Philadelphia, Pa. Five boats competed in today’s 35th Memorial Murphy Cup Regatta.
Career Days by Michaels, Swikart Lifts Villanova Over Lafayette 13-11.
The Villanova Wildcats (2-6, 0-1 BIG EAST) never trailed in a 13-11 victory over Lafayette (6-2, 1-0 Patriot League) at Fisher Stadium on Wednesday night.
Early Run Lifts Wildcats over Bucknell 13-8
Villanova outscored Bucknell 4-3 in the final quarter. To get things started Jake Froccaro completed a hat trick on a dish from McNamara. Next it was McNamara himself who would score followed minutes later by a Jake Froccaro shot that found the back of the net. Curran netted his fifth goal, a career high, with just over a minute to play to make the final 13-8. Cuccinello was credited for the assists on the final three goals of the game.
Bats Stay Hot In Wildcats' Victory Against Rider
The Wildcats earned two victories on the day, winning the latter part of the doubleheader by a final score of 9-1 in five innings. Villanova is now 11-8 on the year, while Rider drops to 2-13.
Women's Rowing to Race at Murphy Cup in Philadelphia
The Villanova Women’s Rowing Team is making the short trip to Philadelphia to compete in the Murphy Cup on Saturday March 25th. After two straight weeks of training following a successful trip to Florida, the Wildcats are eager for another race.
Wildcats Return to Action, Fall to Saint Joseph’s, 9-1
Following a 10-day layoff in between games due to the cold and snowy weather that affected the area last week, Villanova (2-12) was back on the field on Tuesday afternoon and lost a 9-1 decision to Saint Joseph’s (2-11) at Smithson Field. Freshman left fielder Tyler Bruno (Breinigsville, Pa.) and senior second baseman Todd Czinege (Overland Park, Kan.) had three hits apiece for the Wildcats, who scored their only run in the top of the first inning but continued to put runners on base throughout the contest.
