Villanova Announces 2017 Football Schedule
Five home games at Villanova Stadium and the first meeting in five years with local FBS foe Temple highlight the 2017 football schedule, presented by Independence Blue Cross, which was announced on Friday afternoon. Director of Athletics Mark Jackson and first-year head coach Mark Ferrante announced the 11-game schedule the Wildcats will play in their 124th season on the gridiron. Villanova begins the 2017 campaign with a road game at Lehigh on September 2, and will host its home opener versus Lafayette on September 16.
Women's Basketball Travels to Butler on Friday
Friday’s game versus Butler will be the eighth all-time meeting between the two schools. Villanova leads the all-time series against the Bulldogs by a 6-1 count. The Wildcats closed out the non conference portion of their schedule on Wednesday with a 60-48 win at Penn. The Wildcats will now play 11 straight Big East games to finish the regular season.

This marks the third Center sellout for Villanova in the last three seasons and its 12th since it began hosting games at the facility in 1996-97. A crowd of 16,891 attended the Wildcats’ 93-81 BIG EAST victory over Marquette at the Center on Jan. 7.

The Villanova women’s swimming and diving team returns home on Friday, Jan. 20 to face Richmond in a meet that will begin at 2 p.m. The Wildcats haven’t competed in the Pavilion since a home meet on Nov. 12 against Penn.

Williamson Sets School Record in 60 Meters at Nittany Lion Challenge
One of the young members of the Villanova roster made a name for herself in the first meet of the new year and the Wildcats had a terrific day of competition at the Nittany Lion Challenge on Saturday afternoon. Freshman sprinter Trudy-Ann Williamson (Kingston, Jamaica) provided the highlight of the day by first tying, and then breaking, the school record in the 60 meter dash. She won the final heat in a record time of 7.41 seconds.
