Villanova won the Championship of America title in the women's 4x1500 meter relay at the Penn Relays on Friday afternoon, racking up their 11th championship in the past six years at the world's most historic track meet. This is the 39th title all-time for the Wildcats in a women's Championship of America race, and the victory also set a new individual record as senior Angel Piccirillo (Homer City, Pa.) became the first collegiate women's runner to win eight career Penn Relays watches.

The Villanova softball team (31-17, 11-6 BIG EAST) was victorious in two games against DePaul (24-20, 9-6 BIG EAST) on Saturday at the Villanova Softball Complex. With the wins, Villanova will defeat DePaul in a series for the first time in program history.

Penn Relays: Men's DMR Team Finishes Tallies Fifth Place Finish
Villanova returned three of its four runners in the same position as last season in the Championship of America distance medley relay on Friday afternoon and found itself in a fast and physical race from the outset at Franklin Field in the 123rd running of the Penn Relays. The quartet of junior Ben Malone (River Vale, N.J.), sophomore Harry Purcell (Dublin, Ireland), sophomore Ville Lampinen (Vantaa, Finland) and redshirt freshman Logan Wetzel (Saline, Mich.) tallied a fifth place finish in 9:34.59 in the Wildcats first big race of the weekend.
Villanova Drops Game One of Conference Series to Georgetown, 7-0
The Villanova Wildcats (9-24, 2-5 BIG EAST) returned to the Villanova Ballpark at Plymouth on Friday afternoon to take on the Georgetown Hoyas (22-19, 1-5 BIG EAST) in BIG EAST conference play. On a beautiful sunny day in Plymouth Meeting, Pa., the Wildcats dropped game one of the series, with a final score of 7-0. Senior Todd Czinege (Overland Park, Kan.) and freshman Tyler Bruno (Breinigsville, Pa.) each has two hits for the Wildcats today.
Men’s Golf Ready For BIG EAST Championship
The Villanova men’s golf team will head south to play in the BIG EAST Championship Presented by Jeep from April 30-May 2 at the Callawassie Island Golf Club in Okatie, S.C. The 54-hole tournament will begin at 8 a.m. each day, and live stats will be available throughout the competition.
