Villanova sophomore Darby Goodwin (Jupiter, Fla./The Pine School) was named the BIG EAST Women’s Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week, which was announced today in the conference’s weekly press release.
Wildcats Continue Homecoming Success, Topple No. 23 Albany 24-13
Sophomore running back Aaron Forbes (Newburgh, N.Y.) ran for a career-high 151 yards and two touchdowns and the defense recorded the most sacks by any FCS team in the nation this season as No. 16 Villanova (6-2, 4-1 CAA Football) cruised to a 24-13 win over No. 23 Albany (4-3, 1-3 CAA Football) at Villanova Stadium on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Wildcats remained in a three-way tie with New Hampshire and Richmond for second place in the CAA Football regular season standings.
Decker and Crutchfield Acquire BIG EAST Weekly Honors
The BIG EAST announced today that both Emma Decker (LaGrange, Ill./Nazareth Academy and Claire Crutchfield (Falls Church, Va./Bishop O’Connell) earned BIG EAST Weekly Honors after Villanova downed Georgetown 3-1 on Saturday night in Washington D.C.

Villanova University Dedicates Andrew J. Talley Athletic Center
Longtime head football coach Andy Talley, who has announced his retirement at the end of the 2016 season, now has a brand new building that bears his name to go along with his legacy of success both on and off the field. Talley and several Villanova dignitaries took part in a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday evening to officially dedicate the Andrew J. Talley Athletic Center in the west end zone of Villanova Stadium. The newest athletics facility on campus will be home to the Wildcats football program and contains several amenities that will benefit every student-athlete on campus.

Villanova sophomore goalkeeper, Erika Miller (Malvern, Pa.) was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference this afternoon. Also, freshman forward/midfield, Emma McLaughlin (Quakertown, Pa.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
