With a threat of rain and damp conditions in the forecast, the first pitch of Friday afternoon's series opener between Villanova (15-25, 3-6 BIG EAST) and Creighton (27-9, 5-1 BIG EAST) has been moved up to a 2:15 p.m. start at the Villanova Ballpark at Plymouth. The remainder of the series is currently set for 2:15 p.m. on Saturday and 1:15 p.m. on Sunday. Any further schedule changes, if necessary, will be announced at a later time.
Freshman Sammy Bockoven (Hudson, Ohio) made her debut at the Penn Relays as the anchor of a Villanova lineup that placed third in the Championship of America distance medley relay at Franklin Field on Thursday evening. Sophomores Siofra Cleirigh Buttner (Dublin, Ireland), Sidney Hayes (Spring Grove, Pa.) and Rebecca Del Rossi (Canton, N.Y.) preceded Bockoven and the Wildcats finished with a time of 11:21.77.
The Villanova 2016 Men's Soccer staff is already at work on the upcoming season. Assistant coach Mark Fetrow and volunteer coach Kevin McMullen are on board working with head coach Tom Carlin and assistant coach Mike Montross.
Villanova men's lacrosse attacker Jake Froccaro has been named by the Office of Academic Support as the Student-Athlete of the Month for March as a result of his accomplishments both in athletic competition and academically.
Villanova golf heads to Okatie, S.C. for the three-day, 54-hole BIG EAST Men's Golf Championships from Sunday, May 1 through Tuesday, May 3. The tournament will be played at Callawassie Island Golf Club's Dogwood and Magnolia courses and is free and open to the public. Live stats will be available on GolfStat.com.
The Villanova women's tennis team opened the 2016 BIG EAST Tournament with an early Thursday morning match with the Butler Bulldogs and rolled to a 4-0 win to advance to a quarterfinal match on Friday.

It is Penn Relays week at long last, and the 122nd running of the world's most historic track meet will add another chapter to Villanova's long-standing tradition at Franklin Field.
